Lutheran World Relief

Lutheran World Relief helps people based on need, regardless of race, religion or nationality. Prince of Peace gives to LWR by making and donating items for the following kits. School Kits consist of spiral notebooks, pens and pencils, pencil sharpener, ruler, scissors and an eraser. Baby Layettes have blankets, diapers, sleepers, t-shirts, socks, a jacket and soap. Personal Care kits include a bath towel, comb, toothbrush, nail clippers and soap.

Quilters in the church meet monthly to work on mission quilts made from donated material. They make about 80 quilts every year. Money is also collected to help pay for shipping the kits and quilts wherever they are needed.​

Mission Trips for the High School Youth
Mission trip opportunities have been available for High School youth. The planning is done during the Wednesday evening program.  In addition, there are one day mission trips planned in Des Moines areas for Confirmation age youth.
